Westside Atlanta Charter School fosters a diverse, tight-knit community of lifelong learners, giving each child an excellent academic experience that builds curiosity, critical thinking, and character.
Westside, rooted in its community-focused origins, is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive environment. Established by Westside residents to enhance educational equity, it opened in 2013 and grew to full K-8 capacity by 2020. Westside emphasizes nurturing each child's holistic development—academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and in character.
It's known for challenging students to realize their full potential, building critical thinking and content mastery in a unique, student-centered learning environment. Governed by a dedicated board, Westside maintains strong ties with local schools and the broader community, promoting openness and collaborative learning.

Westside Atlanta Charter School opens its doors, founded by local families and professionals with a mission of educational equity.
Moving Day
2018
The Westside community moves into their new permanent facility on Perry Boulevard.
First Day in the New Building
2018
Westside students gather in front of the iconic "Innovation, Rigor, & Service" wall to mark the first day in their permanent home.
First Board Meeting

The Westside Governing Board convenes its first meeting in the new Perry Boulevard facility, setting the stage for the school's next chapter.
Food Pantry Installation

Westside opens an on-site food pantry to support families in the community, reinforcing the school's commitment to whole-child wellbeing.
1st Class Westside Cornerstones

The inaugural class of Westside Cornerstones graduates, marking a milestone in the school's history.

Born from community collaboration, Westside Atlanta Charter School, founded by local families and professionals, opened in 2013 with a mission of educational equity. Growing annually, it achieved K-8th grade capacity by 2019-2020.
Emphasizing cooperation over competition, Westside fosters partnerships with neighboring public and independent schools, enhancing mutual learning opportunities beyond traditional zoning boundaries.
