Community Council is Westside’s version of a PTA, and every Westside parent and caregiver is already a member. Together, Community Council supports the Wolverine Experience through student and teacher appreciation, family events, classroom support, and school spirit moments.
Community Council meets the last Friday of each month. Meetings are open — all families are welcome to attend.
What We Do
Community Council supports the Westside community throughout the school year by helping coordinate the people, programs, and experiences that make school feel connected and cared for.
Create student and family experiences through school-wide events, celebrations, and community-building activities.
Support classrooms and room parents with class celebrations, teacher support, and family communication.
Celebrate teachers and staff through appreciation efforts, breakroom support, treat carts, and special recognition throughout the year.
Engage families and volunteers by creating meaningful ways for parents, caregivers, alumni, extended family, and community members to contribute their time, talents, and resources.
Support fundraising and community partnerships that help fund events, programs, and experiences for the Westside community.
Keep families informed and connected through Community Council communications, volunteer coordination, and school-wide updates.

The annual Community Council Contribution is:

for the full school year

per semester
Our annual contribution model helps reduce multiple fundraising asks throughout the year while giving Community Council the flexibility to support students, teachers, staff, and families as needs and opportunities arise.

There are lots of ways to support Westside. Whether you have 20 minutes, an hour, supplies to contribute, or a special skill to share, we’d love to have you involved.
